London Fashion Week

At the crossroads of art, culture, and couture, The Mandrake has become a true hub for London Fashion Week. Known for its otherworldly spaces and commitment to creativity, the hotel provides a stage where designers and artists can unveil their work in an atmosphere charged with beauty, mystery, and imagination. As a house of dualities, light and dark, ritual and revelry, The Mandrake stands as the perfect backdrop for fashion’s most daring voices, cementing its role at the beating heart of London’s cultural scene.

Saraanyaaaa

This London Fashion Week, The Mandrake is proud to host the unveiling of “The Tragedy Queen”, the SS26 collection by emerging couture house SARAANYAAAA.

A cinematic elegy woven in silk and sorrow, the collection draws inspiration from South Asian cinema’s most enigmatic archetype, the Tragedy Queen, reimagining her as a symbol of transformation and power. Through hand-embroidered zardozi, sheer saris, pearls, and sculptural draping, designer Saraanyaaaa fuses heritage craftsmanship with contemporary couture to create garments that are both delicate and architectural.

Presented within the otherworldly setting of The Mandrake, The Tragedy Queen becomes more than a runway,  it is a visual poem of femininity, resilience, and cultural memory.

Saidis Orda

‘Artist in Residence’

16th – 22nd September

A SCANDAL unfolds live at The Mandrake during London Fashion Week, 16th–22nd
September, transforming the hotel into an immersive stage where art, identity, and
illusion collide.
Saidis Orda’s work responds to a world consumed by identity disorder,
homogenisation, and the pressures of a post-global digital age. In a society where
individuality is eroded by celebrity obsession, algorithm-driven ideals, and the
relentless pursuit of perfection, Orda confronts these tensions head-on.
Through provocative imagery, surreal styling, and layered narratives, the project
reveals how curated personas dominate our reality while our true selves fragment.
The hotel becomes part of the performance:
From 16th – 22nd September, The Mandrake hosts an immersive exhibition, ORDA,
vandalising the hotel and transforming the space into an evolving installation. Live
photoshoots on 16th and 17th September offer insight into Orda’s creative process.
On 18th September, an exhibition tour and panel discussion led by Orda, creator
of the ORDAtalks podcast, provides further context. The programme concludes with a
celebratory event featuring a special performance.
To attend the exhibition tour, panel discussion, or celebratory event,
please RSVP at mag@themandrake.com
