HARIF GUZMAN

PAINTINGS

In October 2018, The Mandrake welcomed artist and designer Harif Guzman for our Artist-in-Residence series.

Guzman started as an artist in New York and now works internationally in fashion and on murals, contemporary street art and film photography. He created his own brand Haculla and has participated in numerous brand collaborations with the likes of Lane Crawford, Italian Vogue, 55 Diesel and Soho Arts Club.

Guzman’s work comes in various mediums including video art, photography and design.

From 2nd October during the 30th year of Frieze, he partnered with The Mandrake for eight days. During this period, he exhibited exclusively curated works that were created in the hotel, whilst also showcasing video art produced in the streets of New York in various spaces throughout his residency.

Harif’s work was acquired by the MoMA and is in the permanent collection as of July 2018. Notably he has worked with Atrium Art Mall, the world’s first-ever street art mall in Moscow, alongside Pokras, Felipe Pantone, Ben Eine, Retna, Shepard Fairey, and more.

If you plan on consuming the works of future artists in residence, don’t forget we also offer boutique hotel accommodation in Fitzrovia, London – in the heart of the West EnD.
