JOSEPH CLARKSON
Art & Fashion Photographer
The Mandrake x Joseph Clarkson
From 13th – 20th February 2023, The Mandrake hosted cult fashion photographer, Joseph Clarkson, whose work featured in Vogue Italia and Dazed. His exhibition was shown across London Fashion Week.
The exhibition was shown on 16th February and during the weekend of his residency, Joseph Clarkson shot a new body work using hotel’s rich interiors for settings
For the occasion, he hand-selected an amazing pool of creatives to collaborate with him during his residency. Working on a number of creative projects, from a twins birthing mutation story to turning Sophia Hadjipanteli into a living piece of art.
“When entering The Mandrake, you feel like you are stepping out of London and into a different world, which is exactly my intention for the viewer through the series of images I plan to create.”
– Joseph Clarkson
The exhibition located in our Portal, ‘A Parasite in Rich Soil’s Delight’, is a fashion-led interpretation of the life journey of a worm, coming up from the soil and experiencing its senses, the world and its surroundings for the first time. Taking an idea that seems quite mundane and simple, and flipping it on its head, Clarkson worked alongside an impressive team of creatives on the project.
