PALAIS EMMA WEAVER

Emma is a sculptor and maker of installations, working with flowers and plants as her primary medium. Her work is often defined as floristry but through the use of colour and light, many of its qualities bring it closer to painting. Her work responds to real world spaces and natural forms, creating with them poetic and imaginative realms.

For her piece at The Mandrake, Emma experimented with feeding her flowers special dye to bring a surreal, ethereal dimension to her creation. Collaborating with a light artist, her sculpture evolved from day to night, changing colour and shape. 

On Saturday 23rd July, the unveiling of her work under the glare of the full moon was be a rare and unmissable experience. 

For the week of her residency, Emma stayed at our boutique hotel and developed her piece in Masha Hari Theatre, the space was dedicated to Emma for her residency.

The programme strives to provide an interactive playground, where artists and visitors interact in the hotel’s exquisitely designed spaces to create original, unique, provocative, and live works of art. Hotel guests and visitors witness close-hand the creative process of the artists, and are often part of the work itself, becoming an essential element of the photo, tattoo, painting, mural, or music that is created.
